BeatzLock Authenticator Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how BeatzLock Authenticator collects, uses, stores, protects, and shares information when you use the BeatzLock app, account services, sync services, update services, recovery features, device session features, notification features, ratings, APIs, and related websites.

BeatzLock is designed for security and privacy. A key goal is to collect only what is needed to operate the app and to keep sensitive OTP data encrypted when sync is used.

1. Who is responsible for BeatzLock

2. Information you provide

Depending on how you use BeatzLock, you may provide:

• Username.
• Email address.
• Password.
• OTP account names, issuers, labels, and secrets that you add to the app.
• Backup and recovery code actions.
• Profile information, such as display details or profile photo if supported.
• App rating, comments, suggestions, or feedback.
• Support messages or other information you send directly.

Passwords are used for authentication and should be stored in protected form on the server. BeatzLock does not need your plain password after login.

3. Information created while using the service

BeatzLock may create or store service records such as:

• Account ID and account status.
• Login and authentication tokens.
• Device session records, including device labels and device references.
• Primary-device status.
• Sync status, sync timestamps, version counters, and deleted-account markers.
• Security events, such as sign-ins, password changes, PIN changes, backup code generation, account additions, and active-device checks.
• App notification records.
• App update and version request information.
• Server logs, error logs, IP addresses, timestamps, and request metadata needed to operate and protect the service.

4. Encrypted OTP and backup data

When cloud sync is enabled, BeatzLock stores synced OTP account data as encrypted content. This may include OTP account names, issuers, usernames, secrets, and related account details, but the sync payload is intended to be encrypted before storage and transmission.

Backup code sets and notification payloads may also be stored in encrypted form where supported by the service.

Because encrypted data depends on the correct key or password-derived key, BeatzLock may not be able to recover your OTP accounts if you lose the information needed to decrypt them.

5. Local device storage

The BeatzLock app may store information locally on your device, including:

• OTP accounts.
• App settings.
• Theme and preference settings.
• Login tokens.
• Encryption key material.
• App lock or PIN-related data.
• Sync preferences.

Local data may remain on your device until you delete it, uninstall the app, clear app data, sign out, or use a deletion feature in the app.

Your device operating system, backups, malware protection, cloud device backups, and physical access to your device may affect the privacy and security of local data.

6. How BeatzLock uses information

BeatzLock uses information to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Sign you in and keep sessions secure.
• Sync encrypted OTP data across your devices if you enable sync.
• Restore access with backup or recovery features where available.
• Show security notifications.
• Manage active devices and primary-device controls.
• Provide app updates and version checks.
• Display legal documents and app information.
• Process ratings, feedback, and support requests.
• Detect abuse, investigate errors, protect the service, and keep records needed for security.
• Improve app reliability, usability, and security.

7. Legal bases and reasons for processing

Depending on where you live, privacy laws may require a legal basis for processing personal information. BeatzLock processes information when it is needed to:

• Provide the app and account services you request.
• Protect your account, the service, and other users.
• Comply with legal obligations.
• Maintain legitimate interests such as security, debugging, fraud prevention, service improvement, and support.
• Use your consent where consent is required, such as optional features or certain communications.

8. Sharing information

BeatzLock does not sell your personal information.

BeatzLock may share limited information:

• With hosting, infrastructure, email, storage, analytics, security, or support providers that help operate the service.
• When needed to comply with law, legal process, or enforceable government requests.
• To protect BeatzLock, users, or others from fraud, abuse, security threats, or harm.
• With your direction or consent.

If you submit a public app rating, review, comment, or suggestion, that content may be displayed publicly with the name or profile information connected to the rating feature.

9. Third-party services

BeatzLock may connect to app stores, operating system services, browser links, update services, hosting providers, email services, or other third-party systems. Those services may process information under their own privacy policies.

BeatzLock is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites, app stores, operating systems, or accounts where you use OTP codes.

10. Data retention

BeatzLock keeps information for as long as needed to provide the service, protect accounts, comply with law, resolve disputes, maintain security logs, and support backups or recovery.

Encrypted sync data, device sessions, ratings, notifications, and account records may remain until you delete them, request deletion, or BeatzLock removes them under its retention practices.

Some information may remain in backups, logs, or security records for a limited time after deletion.

11. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access personal information held about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your account or certain data.
• Object to or restrict some processing.
• Export or receive a copy of certain data.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• Lodge a complaint with a privacy or data protection authority.

BeatzLock may need to verify your identity before fulfilling some requests.

12. Security

BeatzLock uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, including authentication, encrypted sync payloads, token-based sessions, device session controls, app lock features, and server-side security controls.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You should protect your device, password, email account, backup codes, recovery codes, and app PIN. You should also keep BeatzLock updated.

13. Children

BeatzLock is not intended for children under 13, and it is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through BeatzLock, contact felixmokayabeatz@proton.me so the issue can be reviewed.

14. International use

BeatzLock may be used from different countries, and service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Privacy protections may differ by country.

Where required, BeatzLock will use appropriate measures for international transfers of personal information.

15. Changes to this policy

BeatzLock may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will show a new "Last updated" date.

If a change is important, BeatzLock may provide notice in the app, on the website, by email, or by another reasonable method.
